About SLRWD

The Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District was established in February 1975 to clean up hotspots of failed on-site septic systems and help prevent wastewater pollution into lakes and streams. Support was provided by the Steuben County Lakes Council and Jackson, Jamestown, Millgrove and Pleasant Township Trustees. The District’s Board of Trustees was established, which consists of seven members who are appointed by the trustees of each township the District services. The Board of Trustees established rates and charges through public hearings, generating revenue for its operation, maintenance and capital debt reduction.
